• The designators and communities are:
• Midshipmen found Not Physically Qualified (NPQ) for Unrestricted Line (URL), but Physically Qualiifed for Commissioning will be selected for Restricted Line/Staff Corps billets.
• There are additional requirements (not listed here) for the following service selection choices:
  • Graduate School Programs
  • Naval Aviation
  • Submarine Warfare Officer
  • Special Warfare Officer
  • Medical Corps Officer  
  • Naval Reactors
• Delays of commissioning are authorized periodically depending on personnel levels. A delay of commissioning involves:
  1. placement into inactive reserve after commissioning
  2. no pay
  3. retention of date of rank
  4. obligated service counter does not start until the start of active duty
  5. time of delay is 1,2, or 3 months
• Each midshipman is responsible for ensuring and maintaining physical and medical qualification.
• Active duty obligations are as follows:

NROTC Scholarship Program:	4 years
NROTC College Program:	3 years
Submarine Warfare Officer:	5 years
Surface Nuclear Officer:	5 years
Naval Pilot:	8 years from the date of designation (wings)
Naval Flight Officer:	6 years from the date of designation (wings)
